Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant for a full-time role in a welcoming primary school in the EX37 area. This position offers the opportunity to progress into a permanent role for the right candidate.
The EX37 postcode area includes Umberleigh, High Bickington, Atherington, and Chittlehampton, making this role ideal for candidates based in or near these locations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to students with SEN, helping them to overcome learning barriers
- Work closely with the class teacher to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment
- Collaborate with the SENCO and staff to deliver and monitor individual education plans (IEPs)
- Support the social and emotional development of pupils through one-on-one or small group work
- Track pupil progress and report on development to ensure their needs are being met

- Experience in a similar role is an advantage but not essential; a passion for SEN is key
- Patience, empathy, and a caring approach to working with children
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- A commitment to child safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
