1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant Required in Honiton
Are you a caring, patient and dedicated Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference to a child's educational journey?
We are currently seeking a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive school in Honiton from 2nd November. This rewarding role involves providing individual support to a pupil with Special Educational Needs, helping them to access the curriculum, develop confidence and achieve their full potential.
Working closely with class teachers, SENCOs and other support staff, you will play a vital role in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive.
The Role
- Providing dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with additional needs
- Supporting learning activities both inside and outside the classroom
- Encouraging engagement, independence and confidence
- Assisting with emotional regulation and social development
- Implementing strategies outlined in the pupil's support plan
- Monitoring progress and providing feedback to teaching staff
- Promoting a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment
The Ideal Candidate
- Experience working with children or young people with SEN is desirable
- Knowledge of Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH or other additional needs would be beneficial
- Patient, empathetic and resilient approach
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to adapt support to meet individual needs
- Genuine passion for helping children succeed
