Teaching Personnel are working with a number of welcoming and supportive primary schools across Wells, Shepton Mallet and Frome who are looking to recruit enthusiastic Teaching Assistants for opportunities starting in September 2026.
Whether you already have experience working in schools or are looking to take your first step into education, we would love to hear from you.
About the Role
We are recruiting for a range of opportunities including:
- Full-time Teaching Assistant roles
- Part-time and flexible positions
- Long-term placements
- SEN support opportunities
- General classroom support roles across EYFS, KS1 and KS2
You will work closely with class teachers to support pupils academically, socially and emotionally, helping to create a positive and engaging learning environment.

Previous experience working with children or in schools is ideal, however we are also keen to hear from individuals looking to upskill and gain valuable classroom experience.
This could include people from backgrounds such as:
- Care and support work
- Youth work
- Coaching or sports leadership
- Nursery or childcare settings
- Psychology or education graduates
- Customer-facing or mentoring roles

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
