Teaching Assistant

Teaching Assistant | 30 Hours Per Week | Temporary 

Teaching Personnel are currently looking for a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to provide individualised support to a child within a welcoming primary school.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and wants to make a meaningful difference to a child's education, confidence and development.

You will become a consistent and trusted key adult for the child, providing one-to-one support to help them access learning, develop confidence and independence, and participate successfully in the wider life of their class and school.

The role is 30 hours per week and is a temporary position named to an individual child. There is potential for the role to continue over several academic years, subject to the child's continued attendance, ongoing support needs and associated provision and funding.

Helping Children with Additional Needs to Thrive

Teaching Personnel are looking for someone with experience supporting children with additional needs, with a good understanding of autism and the different ways children may communicate and express their needs.

Every child is different, so you will need to be able to adapt your approach to meet individual learning, communication, sensory and emotional needs. You will understand that behaviour can sometimes be a form of communication and be able to respond with patience, empathy and a positive approach.

• Adapt their approach to suit individual needs
• Remain calm, patient and positive in challenging situations
• Support the child to access learning and classroom activities

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
