Teaching Assistant
Location: Launceston, Callington, Okehampton and Tavistock
Position: Full-Time Primary Teaching Assistant
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Ongoing with potential for permanent opportunities
Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting enthusiastic and dedicated Primary Teaching Assistants to work across a variety of primary schools in the Launceston, Callington, Okehampton and Tavistock areas. We have immediate vacancies available and are recruiting on an ongoing basis for candidates looking to make a positive impact within primary education.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting children in their learning and development. Initially, you will work through Teaching Personnel, with the opportunity to progress into a permanent school-based role if desired.
The Role
As a Primary Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support pupils across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging and creative lessons.
- Provide one-to-one and small-group interventions.
- Help create a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment.
- Support children with varying learning abilities and additional needs.
- Encourage pupils' academic, social and emotional development.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you should:
- Have experience working with children or young people.
- Be enthusiastic, patient and nurturing.
- Have strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Hold a DBS registered on the Update Service, or be willing to complete a new DBS through Teaching Personnel.
- Previous experience within a primary school setting is advantageous but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
