Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – Primary School, Salford

Start Date: After February half term
Location: Salford

Teaching Personnel is delighted to be partnering with a forward‑thinking, inclusive primary school in Salford. The school is committed to supporting every child’s academic, social, and emotional development and is seeking a passionate, experienced HLTA to join their dedicated team.

About the Role

As a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in enhancing teaching and learning across the school. Working alongside class teachers, you will help deliver engaging lessons, lead targeted interventions, and support pupils with a diverse range of learning needs.
This position is perfect for someone who is enthusiastic about education and ready to make a meaningful difference within a supportive setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support teachers in planning and delivering high‑quality lessons across the primary curriculum
  • Provide focused support for pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small group settings
  • Lead intervention programmes for children with additional needs, including SEND and EAL
  • Create an inclusive, positive, and engaging learning environment
  • Support pupils’ emotional and social development, fostering confidence and resilience
  • Prepare and organise learning materials and assist in monitoring pupil progress
  • Maintain strong communication with staff, parents, and carers
  • Contribute to wider school life, including extracurricular activities and events

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience as an HLTA or in a similar primary school role
  • HLTA qualification or equivalent (highly desirable)
  • Solid understanding of the primary curriculum and effective teaching strategies
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and teamwork skills
  • A patient, nurturing, and proactive approach to supporting children
  • Confident in managing behaviour and promoting positive learning
  • Ability to adapt to individual pupil needs and champion inclusive education

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
