Job description

Job Title: Full-Time Teaching Assistant (1:1 Autism Support)
Location: Poole, BH15
Contract: Full-time
Start Date: ASAP / Flexible

We are currently working with a welcoming and supportive primary school in Poole (BH15) who are seeking a strong, committed and caring Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis.

This rewarding role involves providing 1:1 support for a pupil with autism, helping them to access learning, develop independence and feel safe, supported and understood throughout the school day.

The Role

As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide consistent, tailored support to a child with autism

  • Support learning, emotional regulation and social development

  • Implement strategies set out in EHCPs and individual support plans

  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to adapt learning activities

  • Promote a calm, structured and inclusive learning environment

  • Build a positive and trusting relationship with the pupil

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Patient, nurturing and highly reliable

  • Confident supporting children with autism and additional needs

  • Committed to making a long-term difference

  • Able to work effectively as part of a team

  • Experienced in a school or SEN setting (desirable but not essential)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
