Job Title: 1:1 Teaching Assistant – Year 4
Location: Poole
Start Date: After Easter Half Term 2026
Contract: Full-Time | Long-Term Opportunity

We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join one of our welcoming and supportive junior schools in Poole. This is a full-time position starting after the Easter half term, supporting a Year 4 pupil on a 1:1 basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a committed Teaching Assistant who is passionate about making a positive difference to a child’s learning and development. The successful candidate will play a key role in providing tailored support, helping the pupil remain engaged in the classroom and achieve their full potential.

The Role:

  • Providing 1:1 support to a Year 4 pupil throughout the school day

  • Supporting the child with their learning, engagement and emotional wellbeing

  • Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement targeted support strategies

  • Assisting with classroom activities and adapting learning tasks where required

  • Encouraging confidence, independence and positive behaviour

  • Monitoring and reporting on the pupil’s progress and development

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, ideally supporting children on a 1:1 basis

  • Be patient, nurturing and proactive in their approach

  • Have a strong understanding of supporting pupils with additional learning needs

  • Be able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff

  • Be reliable and able to commit to a full-time role
