Job description

Teaching Personnel are proud to be working with an Ofsted outstanding rated school in the Lymington area.

The school is a specialist special needs (SEN) school on the outskirts of Lymington, Hampshire that cater for secondary aged pupils with Autism (ASC) and/or Aspergers’s Syndrome. The school are a modern residential school and operates 52 weeks of the year.

The School are looking for Teaching Assistant’s to join them on a full-time basis (37 hours per week). The working day will be Mon – Thurs 8:30 – 16:45 and until 16:15 on Friday inclusive of breaks.

The school are looking for individuals that are passionate about developing a career and will be willing to put you through training, including teaching training for dedicated members of the team.

The successful Learning Support Assistant will help establish positive and healthy relationships, emotional wellbeing and developing social skills. This is an ideal opportunity for anyone who is looking to develop their career.

Your main duties and responsibilities will include:

  • To support pupils both in and out of the classroom, 1 to 1 or in small groups.
  • Plan and support a child and help them reach their potential in a professional and caring manner.
  • Be reliable, punctual and respectful when working individually in the community or when part of a team and supporting colleagues to do their jobs
  • Actively plan and join in play and youth activities including swimming, ball games, music and more
  • Be prepared to communicate differently with a wide range of people
  • Keep records and write reports when required
  • Always ensure the highest level of safety and safeguarding

Experience is preferred but not necessary. If you have transferable skills then this could be the job for you.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
