Job description

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for a full-time Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive secondary school in Hayes from September 2026.

This is an excellent temp-to-perm opportunity for individuals looking to build a long-term career within education. The successful candidate will initially work through Teaching Personnel, with the opportunity to secure a permanent contract directly with the school following a successful placement.

The school has a strong community ethos and prides itself on creating a positive learning environment where students are encouraged to achieve both academically and personally. Staff are well-supported by senior leadership, and the school offers excellent opportunities for development and progression.

The Role Will Include:

  • Supporting students across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Working closely with teachers to support learning in the classroom
  • Providing 1:1 support for students who require additional guidance
  • Delivering small group interventions and targeted support
  • Encouraging student confidence, engagement, and independence
  • Supporting behaviour management in line with school policies
  • Assisting students with varying learning needs and abilities
  • Promoting student wellbeing and safeguarding at all times

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience working with children or young people in any setting
    (schools, tutoring, sports coaching, youth work, mentoring, care or support work)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Confidence supporting secondary-aged students
  • A calm, adaptable, and proactive attitude
  • Good behaviour management skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting young people in education
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
