Teaching Assistant

About the Role
Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting Teaching Assistants to work in a range of secondary schools across Hastings. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting young people and helping them reach their full potential in the classroom.
You will work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to support students aged 11–16, assisting with lessons, behaviour management, and providing additional support where needed.
Key Responsibilities

Support teachers during lessons and classroom activities

Provide 1:1 or small group support to students
-
Help students stay engaged and focused on their learning
-
Assist with classroom preparation and learning resources
-
Support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) where required
-
Promote positive behaviour and a safe learning environment

Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers
Requirements
-
Experience working with young people, education, or childcare is desirable
-
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
-
A patient, positive, and supportive attitude
-
Ability to work as part of a team
-
An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
-
A genuine interest in supporting students in education

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
