Level 3 Teaching Assistant – Primary School

Contract: Full-time, Term-Time Only
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm

We are delighted to be working with a friendly and inclusive primary school in Gateshead who are seeking a Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic individual who is passionate about supporting children’s learning and development in a nurturing environment.

The Role

As a Level 3 Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Provide high-quality support to pupils across the school, including small-group and 1:1 interventions.
• Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons.
• Support pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development.
• Adapt learning resources to meet individual needs.
• Promote positive behaviour and a safe, inclusive learning environment.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for pupils.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you should:

• Hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
• Have previous experience working in a primary school setting.
• Demonstrate strong communication and organisational skills.
• Show patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting children.
• Be confident working independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of SEND and intervention strategies is desirable.
