Level 3 Teaching Assistant – Primary School
Location: Gateshead
Start Date: January
Contract: Full-time, Term-Time Only
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
We are delighted to be working with a friendly and inclusive primary school in Gateshead who are seeking a Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic individual who is passionate about supporting children’s learning and development in a nurturing environment.
The Role
As a Level 3 Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide high-quality support to pupils across the school, including small-group and 1:1 interventions.
- Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons.
- Support pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development.
- Adapt learning resources to meet individual needs.
- Promote positive behaviour and a safe, inclusive learning environment.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for pupils.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you should:
- Hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
- Have previous experience working in a primary school setting.
- Demonstrate strong communication and organisational skills.
- Show patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting children.
- Be confident working independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of SEND and intervention strategies is desirable.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
