Job description

SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Crawley
Hours: Full-time, Term Time Only

We are seeking to appoint a dedicated, caring and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to join our supportive one-form entry primary school in Crawley.

This is a varied and rewarding role working across the school to support children with Special Educational Needs, while assisting the SENCo and working closely as part of a collaborative staff team.

The Role

  • Support pupils with a range of SEN, both 1:1 and in small groups

  • Work across the school, including in-class and intervention support

  • Assist the SENCo with day-to-day SEN provision and organisation

  • Support pupils with learning, communication, social and emotional needs

  • Contribute to planning, implementing and reviewing SEN strategies

  • Help ensure all pupils can access learning in an inclusive environment

The Ideal Candidate

  • Has experience supporting children with SEN (school-based experience desirable)

  • Is patient, flexible and nurturing, with a strong team ethos

  • Can work proactively under the direction of the SENCo and class teachers

  • Has a good understanding of inclusive practice and child development

  • Is organised, adaptable and committed to supporting every child to succeed

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
