About the role

Start date: ASAP with a view to continue in September

Days / hours: Mon-Fri 8:30am-3:30pm  

Teaching Personnel is looking for an experienced Primary Educator, that has previously worked in a Primary setting with a range of ages. The role is based in a quaint, small village in The Vale of Glamorgan.

We are looking for a teaching assistant to work in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) to be working closely with the class teachers to create an engaging environment in a class, supporting learning activities, encouraging pupil participation and helping children build confidence and independence, then to work on a 1:1 basis with a child with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) in the afternoon.

This primary school welcomes around 150 students so it is a busy, friendly, thriving school, with lots of things going on every day. The school recognise that it is a privilege to support children through their crucial years of personal growth and educational development and are therefore dedicated to equipping all the pupils with the knowledge, skills and dispositions they need to become happy and successful citizens in the 21st Century.

The school is a Church in Wales school, which means that faith and Christian values underpin the whole life of the school. The strong links with the local parish and community mean that this primary school maintains a family atmosphere that supports life and learning for every child and family.

About you, the Educator

We are seeking a teaching assistant who is: 

  • Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
  • Empathetic and compassionate  
  • Prior experience working with children, preferably in a school or educational setting
  • Confident in 1:1 work with ALN
  • Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of children

What you will require

  • An enhanced child DBS 
  • A live EWC registration

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
