Teaching Assistant – Secondary School

Are you a supportive, patient and enthusiastic individual looking to make a real difference to young people's education? Teaching Personnel is currently working with a well-established secondary school in Bridport that is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join its team from September.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people and wants to play an important role in helping students develop academically, socially and personally. You will work alongside teachers and other support staff to provide targeted assistance and help create a positive learning environment.
The Role
The successful Teaching Assistant will be involved in:

Supporting students on a 1:1 basis and within small groups.

Helping pupils understand and complete classroom activities.
-
Working alongside teachers to provide additional learning support.
-
Encouraging students to develop confidence, independence and positive learning habits.
-
Supporting pupils who may require additional help with their learning or behaviour.
-
Helping maintain a calm, inclusive and engaging classroom environment.
-
Building strong, positive relationships with students and staff.
-
Contributing to the wider work and ethos of the school.
About You
The school is looking for someone who:

Has previous experience working with children or young people.

Is approachable, patient and able to form positive relationships.

Has a genuine interest in supporting young people's development.

Communicates clearly and works well with teaching and support staff.

Can adapt their approach to meet the needs of different students.

Is reliable, proactive and professional.
-
Remains calm and positive when dealing with challenging situations.
Experience within a school environment would be beneficial, but candidates from backgrounds such as childcare, youth work, mentoring, sports coaching or support work are also encouraged to apply.
