Pay: £92.63 per day
The Role
As a Teaching Assistant within an ALN Base, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to help pupils with a range of Additional Learning Needs access learning, develop independence, and achieve positive outcomes. The role will involve providing both one-to-one and small-group support, helping pupils engage with tailored learning activities and supporting their academic, social, emotional, and communication development. You will play a key role in creating a safe, structured, and nurturing environment where every pupil feels valued and supported. Working as part of a dedicated school team, you will contribute to a positive learning environment that promotes inclusion, confidence, engagement, and personal development.
Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of engaging and differentiated learning activities.
- Work with individual pupils and small groups to support learning and developmental goals.
- Provide tailored support for pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN).
- Assist pupils with communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation where required.
- Encourage positive behaviour and engagement throughout the school day.
- Implement strategies and interventions identified within pupils' Individual Development Plans (IDPs).
- Help monitor pupil progress and share observations with teaching staff.
- Build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues, families, and external professionals.
- Promote confidence, resilience, and independence in pupils.
- Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
About You
We are looking for a Teaching Assistant who:
- Has experience working with children or young people with Additional Learning Needs.
- Is enthusiastic, patient, and committed to supporting pupils' development.
- Can confidently support learners with a variety of needs and abilities.
- Has a calm, nurturing, and adaptable approach.
- Works effectively as part of a team and communicates well with staff, pupils, and families.
- Has a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
- Is available to commit to a full-time, long-term position.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- Education Workforce Council (EWC) registration as a Teaching Assistant, or willingness to apply.
- An Enhanced DBS Certificate registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
