Teaching Assistant for SEN School - Newbury

Teaching Assistant:

Teaching personnel are working with an alternative provision that is looking to employ a SEMH Teaching Assistant in the Newbury area. The candidate must have experience working with individuals who have behavioural or social, emotional and mental health issues. The role itself is challenging and requires someone who can build relationships and motivate individuals who have left mainstream education. The ideal candidate will be able to commute to the Newbury area and be available to start from October 2019. The Role:

  • Supporting the delivery of all lessons and helping to engage students
  • Liaise with teachers and support staff to develop education plans
  • Building and maintaining student relationships
  • Age range 4-16
  • 8:15am to 3:45pm Monday to Friday

The ideal candidate:

  • Experience of behavioural management within small groups or 1:1 setting
  • Experience with Social Emotional and Mental Health
  • Great communication and motivational skills
  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or Care Assistant desirable
  • Can drive to Newbury area from Swindon
