ASC Support Assistant – Year 2 (Primary School, Blackpool)

Teaching Personnel are working closely with a welcoming Primary School in Blackpool who are seeking a dedicated and compassionate ASC Support Assistant to join their Year 2 team.

The successful candidate will be supporting a pupil with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) on a one-to-one basis, helping them to access the curriculum, develop their social skills, and thrive in the classroom. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a positive difference in children’s lives.

Role Responsibilities:

• Provide tailored one-to-one support for a pupil with ASC in Year 2.

• Work alongside the class teacher and SENCO to implement personalised learning plans.

• Support with social communication, emotional regulation, and classroom engagement.

• Promote independence and build confidence in the child’s learning.

• Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

Requirements:

• Experience supporting children with additional needs, ideally ASC.

• A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

• A DBS on the update service (or willing to apply through Teaching Personnel).
