Teaching Assistant and Cover Supervisor role

Teaching Personnel are recruiting!

We are currently looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant/ Cover Supervisor to join an over-subscribed 'good' Secondary school in Leyland, starting September 2019. The contract will be a rolling contract, depending on performance and feedback from the school. This is a 4 day a week role, Monday - Thursday. You will be working the hours of 8:30am - 3:30pm, with a 30 minute break. This is initially a long term role, with every chance of the contract to roll in to a permanent school contract.

As a Specialist Teaching Assistant/Cover Supervisor your job will be supporting and delivering lessons across KS3 and KS4. You will also be working with small groups of pupils to enhance their learning and academic development.

You shall be required to support pupils during lessons and have the opportunity to coach small groups, in your preferred subject.

This position will also give you the opportunity to experience different subjects and classrooms as you may be required to work as a Cover Supervisor delivering a mixture of subjects that the class teacher will have planned and prepared for you.

Your role will involve supporting and teaching pupils within the school.

Experience working with children and/or young adults is desired, however is not essential, depending success in the interview.

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Experience working with young people
  • Passion for secondary school education
  • Extremely reliable
  • Confidence in dealing with challenging behaviour
  • Be able to confidently work as part of the team and independently
