Teacher (SEN) - Oldham

Full time position for a SEN teacher commencing as soon as possible. This position is full time and is initially in the first instance temporary for the first school term, however there could be a possibility for permanent dependent on the need of the school.

This setting is part of an outstanding Multi Academy trust which has 4 sites all of which are based in Oldham. The setting caters for children and young people with a range of diverse needs including: pupils with a Statement of SEN or an EHCP, on the autistic spectrum and/or have significant communication and interaction difficulties and social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH).

The role will involve planning and delivering lessons which are designed to support and encourage the optimal development of pupils with SEN. As the classroom teacher you will be responsible for using differentiation effectively to ensure that learning is accessible for all pupils. Ideally the teacher will have experience of working within a specialised setting and know how to cater for pupils with SEN. However, experience within a special needs school is not essential as long as the classroom teacher can demonstrate a genuine interest in supporting the ongoing development of pupils with SEN.

The ideal teacher will have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (essential)
  • Team- Teach training (can be provided)
  • An understanding of the importance of differentiation
  • A commitment to ensuring that learning is accessible to all pupils
