Teacher of Science / Second in Science – Full Time – Farnborough

Teaching Personnel are seeking an ambitious and passionate Teacher of Science—with the potential to step into Second in Science—for a full‑time position at a high‑performing secondary school in Farnborough. The Role
We are looking for a dedicated Teacher of Science who is confident teaching KS3 and KS4 across Biology, Chemistry and Physics, with the ability to specialise in one discipline. Alongside delivering consistently high‑quality lessons, the successful candidate will support the Head of Science in driving standards, shaping curriculum development, and ensuring positive outcomes for all learners.
Science is a flagship subject within the school, with students demonstrating strong results and a genuine enthusiasm for learning. The department promotes curiosity, critical thinking, and a sense of “awe and wonder” through practical, engaging, and knowledge‑rich lessons.
This role is ideal for an experienced teacher seeking progression, or a current Second in Science looking for a new challenge in a supportive environment that values innovation and strong classroom practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, challenging and inclusive Science lessons to KS3 & KS4
- Support departmental leadership, contributing to curriculum design and strategic planning
- Model outstanding behaviour management and high expectations
- Use assessment effectively to monitor progress and raise achievement
- Mentor colleagues where appropriate and help drive whole‑school initiatives

You will be a strong classroom practitioner with:
- Proven experience teaching Science to a high standard at KS3–KS4
- Excellent behaviour management and a calm, confident presence

- The ability to inspire rapid progress through engaging and ambitious lessons
- Evidence of raising attainment across mixed‑ability groups
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
