Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, challenging and inclusive Science lessons to KS3 & KS4
  • Support departmental leadership, contributing to curriculum design and strategic planning
  • Model outstanding behaviour management and high expectations
  • Use assessment effectively to monitor progress and raise achievement
  • Mentor colleagues where appropriate and help drive whole‑school initiatives
  • Promote a positive learning culture that empowers students to thrive

What the School Offers

  • A forward‑thinking Science department with excellent facilities
  • A leadership team committed to staff development and wellbeing
  • Dedicated co‑planning time built into the school day
  • Exceptional CPD pathways, including middle‑leadership development
  • A supportive multi‑academy trust network offering collaboration and career progression
  • Enthusiastic students who are eager to learn and achieve

The Ideal Candidate

You will be a strong classroom practitioner with:

  • Proven experience teaching Science to a high standard at KS3–KS4
  • Excellent behaviour management and a calm, confident presence
  • A passion for developing curriculum and innovative teaching practice
  • The ability to inspire rapid progress through engaging and ambitious lessons
  • Evidence of raising attainment across mixed‑ability groups
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and leadership growth

This is a strategic role for the department—your leadership, enthusiasm and subject knowledge will directly shape the future of Science within the school.
