Teaching Personnel are seeking a Teacher of Science on behalf of our high performing partner secondary school located in Wigan.

  • Teacher of Science
  • Required to start from January 2018
  • High performing school

This role is suitable for both an experienced teacher seeking a new challenge or an NQT who would like to immerse themselves in a school with a view to gaining a long term contract. The role is to start from January 2018 and will be until the summer initially. There is also the possibility of a fixed-term or permanent contract being offered to the right candidate.

Main job duties/responsibilities;

  • Teaching Science to both Key Stages 3 &4
  • Excellent understanding of the Science curriculum
  • An enthusiasm and passion for the teaching of Science
  • Fully supporting and engaging with extra curricular activities
  • Attending Parent's evenings and departmental meetings

Information about the school;

  • The school is a popular choice within the local community due to its 'GOOD' Ofsted report and history of achieving high results and outcome for it's' pupils.
  • The Senior Leadership team are highly regarded by the Governors and this fosters a positive learning culture that is centred on the school's core values of trust and respect. Pupils respect the teaching staff and all that they do for them.
  • It is located very close to the nearby motorway which offers excellent accessibility to the surrounding areas of Ashton-in-Makerfield, Winstanley and Hindley.
