About the Role
Our client, a successful and inclusive all-through school and sixth form in Ilford, is seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher of Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) to join their thriving Languages department in September 2025. This role is open to Early Career Teachers (ECTs), experienced teachers, and unqualified candidates with strong language proficiency and a commitment to education.
The school welcomes candidates with expertise in French, Spanish, or other widely taught languages and offers a supportive environment with structured professional development and progression opportunities.
Main Responsibilities

Plan and deliver high-quality MFL lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and KS5 where appropriate)

Foster enthusiasm for language learning and global awareness among students

Use assessment to track progress and provide targeted support

Contribute to curriculum development, enrichment activities, and resource creation

Establish a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment

Support the pastoral care of students as a form tutor

Engage with CPD, staff training, and collaborative planning across the department
What They Are Looking For
The successful candidate will:

Hold QTS (or be working towards it), or possess relevant teaching experience and strong subject knowledge in French, Spanish, or another MFL

Have a degree in a relevant language or linguistics-related field

Be confident in delivering a dynamic and inclusive MFL curriculum

Demonstrate a commitment to raising standards and student achievement

Be reflective, well-organised, and a strong team player

Have excellent classroom management and communication skills

Be passionate about language education and cultural diversity
