Maths Teacher

Location: Tarleton

Start Date: April 2026

Contract: Full-time

Rate of Pay: From £160 per day (Dependant on experience)

We are looking for an inspiring and committed Maths Teacher. A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Maths Teacher to join a successful and supportive Mathematics department. You will teach across KS3 and KS4, helping students develop confidence, curiosity, and a strong understanding of core mathematical concepts.

About the Role

  • Plan and deliver engaging, well‑structured Maths lessons across KS3–KS4.
  • Teach a broad range of mathematical topics including number, algebra, geometry, ratio, probability, and statistics.
  • Use varied teaching approaches to build knowledge, problem‑solving skills, and mathematical resilience.
  • Maintain a well‑organised, positive classroom environment that supports effective learning.
  • Assess and monitor progress through a range of formative and summative methods.
  • Provide appropriate stretch and support for all learners, including SEND, EAL, and higher attainers.
  • Set high expectations for behaviour, effort, and presentation.
  • Contribute to curriculum planning, resources, and the ongoing development of the department.
  • Take part in CPD, departmental meetings, and whole‑school priorities.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, carers, and colleagues.
  • Support wider enrichment through Maths clubs, intervention sessions, competitions, or educational visits.
  • Uphold all safeguarding, health & safety, and professional conduct standards.

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience teaching Maths at KS3 and KS4.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for mathematics.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Good communication, organisation, and classroom‑management skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and high‑quality teaching.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
