Teacher of Fine Art – Tameside Area – September 2025 Start

We are currently working with a forward-thinking secondary school in the Tameside area to recruit a dedicated and inspiring Teacher of Fine Artfor a full-time position starting in September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity for a creative practitioner with a passion for the visual arts to join a thriving and supportive Art department.

The Role:
You will be responsible for planning and delivering a high-quality Fine Art curriculum to students at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, including preparation for AQA GCSE Art & Design. You will contribute to the development of innovative schemes of work and help organise trips, exhibitions, and extra-curricular activities.

Duties Include:

• Delivering imaginative and structured lessons across painting, drawing, sculpture, and mixed media

• Supporting students’ progression through personalised feedback and assessment strategies

• Encouraging exploration of artists, movements, and techniques from diverse cultures and time periods

• Contributing to the creation of a vibrant visual arts environment within the school

• Supporting students with GCSE portfolios and coursework development

• Promoting engagement through after-school clubs, competitions, and arts week events

Essential Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in Fine Art or a related subject

• Strong knowledge of the GCSE Art curriculum (AQA preferred)

• A creative and reflective teaching style, able to engage learners of all abilities

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team to drive departmental vision

• Portfolio or examples of student outcomes desirable at interview

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
