Teacher of Fine Art – Tameside Area – September 2025 Start
We are currently working with a forward-thinking secondary school in the Tameside area to recruit a dedicated and inspiring Teacher of Fine Artfor a full-time position starting in September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity for a creative practitioner with a passion for the visual arts to join a thriving and supportive Art department.

The Role:
You will be responsible for planning and delivering a high-quality Fine Art curriculum to students at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, including preparation for AQA GCSE Art & Design. You will contribute to the development of innovative schemes of work and help organise trips, exhibitions, and extra-curricular activities.
Duties Include:

Delivering imaginative and structured lessons across painting, drawing, sculpture, and mixed media

Supporting students’ progression through personalised feedback and assessment strategies

Encouraging exploration of artists, movements, and techniques from diverse cultures and time periods

Contributing to the creation of a vibrant visual arts environment within the school

Supporting students with GCSE portfolios and coursework development

Promoting engagement through after-school clubs, competitions, and arts week events
Essential Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in Fine Art or a related subject

Strong knowledge of the GCSE Art curriculum (AQA preferred)

A creative and reflective teaching style, able to engage learners of all abilities

Ability to work independently and as part of a team to drive departmental vision

Portfolio or examples of student outcomes desirable at interview

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
