Teacher (Core Subjects)
Location: Backwell, North Somerset
Salary: £32,916 - £49,232
Hours: 40 hours per week
Contract: Permanent, Full Time
Start date: September 2026
About the School
We are proud to be working with a nurturing, inclusive and ambitious school who are opening their doors in Autumn 2026. The school will be for children and young people aged 5-19 with ASD and SEMH needs, with a vision to create a safe, enriching and aspirational environment where every learner can thrive.
The Role
As a Teacher, you will deliver high-quality teaching and learning for pupils with Autism and associated needs, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to succeed. You'll plan and deliver engaging lessons, set personalised targets, and work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to create a positive and supportive learning environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering differentiated lessons tailored to individual needs.
- Monitoring progress and reporting to parents, carers and senior staff.
- Leading on a subject or curriculum area and supporting colleagues.
- Managing and supervising support staff within your classroom.
- Maintaining compliance with safeguarding, equality and health & safety policies.
What We’re Looking For
Essential Qualifications:
✔ Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent
Essential Experience:
✔ Experience working with pupils with SEND, ideally Autism
✔ Strong knowledge of the national curriculum up to GCSE level
✔ Skilled in planning, assessment and classroom management
✔ Ability to remain calm and positive in a challenging environment
Desirable:
✔ Postgraduate diploma in Autism or SEN specialism
✔ Experience in a special school setting

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
