Swimming Coach

Are you a qualified lifeguard or Swim Coach? Do you have a passion for working with children and young people? Have you got experience of working with children with SEND?

Teaching Personnel work alongside several schools in the North Tyneside area who specialise in catering for the needs of children who have learning difficulties and are recruiting for Teaching Assistants who have had experience in a SEN setting or a passion for helping others. A number of Schools are looking for qualified lifeguards to support during hydrotherapy and swim sessions. There is the opportunity to also support within classes and split your day between supporting the swim sessions on a morning and working within the classroom on an afternoon. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain further experience of working within an education setting. 

The ideal candidate will:

• Hold a lifeguard or swimming coach qualification 
• Work effectively as part of a team within the classroom ensuring that all the children are looked after and learning from the taught content
• Work 1:1 with children with SEN, as some needs are more complex than others and need more time and attention
• Be able to work coherently with teachers in providing support for students
• Have a passion for assisting students
• Be enthusiastic and proactive in the classroom
• Have experience of coaching children with special educational needs 
• Promoting and encouraging independence and personal development
