Teaching Personnel are currently seeking experienced Support Workers for full time positions in a Secondary School/Residential unit based just South of Andover.

The specialist residential care unit works in coordination with the secondary school, providing outstanding levels of care and help for children and young people. These pupils can have varied needs, but will mainly include Autism.

The provision provides outstanding support for their service users, working to progress their independent living whilst also stabilising their lives through emotional support. The provision is looking for new members of staff to support the children and young adults.

This is an excellent opportunity for applicants who have the desire to make this a long-term career, as the provision is looking for full time members of staff to go on a permanent basis and regularly offer internal promotion.

The Role:

Hours - 40 Hours/week (Term time only, 13 weeks of paid holiday)

Monday - Friday
Early shifts - 7.30 - 15:00
Late shifts - 14:30 - 22:00


Saturday and Sunday
Early shifts - 8:00 - 17:00
Late shifts - 13:00 - 22:00

Some staff work one shift every weekend some staff work two shifts every other weekend.

Pay - approx GBP15,500 per year base salary

The Candidate

Ideal candidates will need own transport as the public transport isn't too accessible during these hours.

Candidates must have a passion for mentoring young adults and children with needs.

Ideal candidates should make me aware of any hobbies/interests you may have that are a bit different as my school love to use them where possible with the young adults and children, to help build relationships and set up extra curricular clubs.

Previous experience is not completely necessary, however is suitable to this role. Ideal relevant experience can include:

  • Residential / Care Support
  • Youth Work
  • Support Work - Child or Adult
  • Teaching Assistant
