Job description

Join a Supportive and Inspiring School Community

A welcoming and well-regarded specialist setting in rural Cranborne is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to join its friendly and committed team. The school is known for its nurturing environment, strong teamwork and focus on helping every learner experience meaningful progress. This is a full-time position with an immediate start, supporting secondary-aged pupils in both classroom and routine-based activities.

Due to the rural location, a full UK driving licence is essential.


What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 6 months childcare experience, ideally supporting children with SEN

  • A calm, patient and encouraging approach

  • Confidence supporting pupils with learning, routines and engagement

  • Reliability, positivity and a willingness to get involved

  • Someone organised, proactive and able to build strong relationships


Your Daily Responsibilities

  • Supporting pupils throughout the school day, helping them stay focused and engaged

  • Offering emotional encouragement and positive reinforcement

  • Assisting with daily routines and structured activities

  • Working alongside teachers and support staff to create a safe, inclusive environment

  • Helping pupils develop independence and confidence in day-to-day tasks

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
