A school in South Manchester is looking for a Cover Supervisor to join the staff on a temporary basis. The role will focus mainly on covering lessons across a broad range of ages and abilities. This cover is generally required for teachers who are having to isolate due to the ongoing pandemic, as well as increasing staff illness as we approach the winter months. 

Requirements for this position are as follows:

  • The applicant must be educated to degree level.
  • Educational specific qualifications are desirable, though not essential.
  • Experience in working within a secondary school setting is imperative.
  • Aspirations for a long term career within the education sector.

This presents itself as an ideal opportunity to gain invaluable experience for:

  • Recent Graduates.
  • Educators looking for work in between jobs.
  • Those with tutoring/specific mentoring experience.

 It is expected that the applicant will be able to:

  • Monitor and successfully control student behaviour, ensuring students are adhering to school policy at all times.
  • Ensuring students are adhering to the school’s specific Covid-19 protocol.
  • Delivering lessons to large class sizes, dealing with any pastoral issues when they arise.
  • Efficiently deliver pre-set lesson plans.
  • Implement strategies to maintain student engagement within the classroom.

It is expected that the required candidate will be able to:

  • Act as a role model both within the classroom as well as across the school site.
  • Work with support staff when necessary.
  • Provide specific feedback to senior leaders when necessary.
  • Ensure students with SEN are catered for based on their individual needs.

The school:

  • Located in South Manchester, the school is located not far from Manchester City Centre.
  • There are several public transport links located within close proximity of the school site.
  • Motorway links also located close by.

Pay: GBP275 - GBP350 per week.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
