Student Mentor
Do you have a passion to work with young people and to provide 1-2-1 support? Are you an inspiring teacher looking to gain valuable experience?
One of our partner secondary schools are looking to employ a caring student mentor to support their students on 1-2-1 basis outside of the classroom. This will be on a part-time basis for the summer term.
Highlights of the role:
• ASAP start date
• Part time 25 hours per week
• Inclusive school with supportive staff and leaders
The school is located in Failsworth, Manchester and has a track record of well-behaved pupils. Those pupils with academic, social and emotional needs are well provided for and you role will be to continue to provide this high level of support. The school is popular within the local community and shows stats of being above average when looking at the percentage of pupils that progress onto further education, training and employment.
To be considered for this role you must:
- Have previous experience working within a secondary school
- Have GCSE in English and Maths
- A desire to support young people from a range of backgrounds
- Be able to effectively manage challenging behavior
- Be a supportive mentor for students aged 11-16
