Specialist Resource Base Teaching Assistant (SRB TA) 
Location: CF11
Full-time | Term-time only

We are working with a truly lovely and welcoming primary school in the CF11 area who are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join their Specialist Resource Base (SRB) provision from September.

This school has two well-established SRBs that support pupils with additional learning needs, including autism, communication and interaction difficulties, and complex needs. The setting is known for its nurturing environment, strong team ethos, and commitment to providing every child with the opportunity to thrive.

The Role:
As an SRB Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver tailored support, helping pupils access learning in a way that suits their individual needs.

This is a hands-on role that requires patience, empathy, and a proactive approach. You will be supporting children both academically and emotionally, helping them to develop communication skills, independence, and confidence.

Key Responsibilities:
Supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including ASD and speech and language difficulties
Assisting with the delivery of personalised learning activities and adapting resources where needed
Encouraging positive behaviour and supporting emotional regulation
Providing consistent routines and structure to support pupil wellbeing
Supporting pupils during transitions and unstructured times such as break and lunch
Working collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and external professionals

Personal Care:
This role will involve personal care. You must be comfortable supporting pupils with tasks such as toileting, changing, and general hygiene needs, always maintaining dignity and respect.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Previous experience working with children with ALN/SEN, particularly within an SRB or similar setting
A calm, nurturing, and patient nature
Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
A proactive and flexible attitude
Confidence supporting children with additional behavioural and emotional needs
A genuine passion for making a difference in children’s lives

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
