 A secondary school in Bramhall, Stockport is looking for a motivated Biology teacher to join the teaching staff on a temporary basis. As this role is to join the teaching staff, it is important to note that only candidates with QTS will be considered. A degree within the field of Biology/Science is very desirable. Those who are also competent in the delivery of Chemistry and Physics are urged to apply to this role also, owing to the need for versatility within the role.  The required applicant will be able to successfully deliver high quality Biology lessons, to children across a broad range of ages, abilities and ethnicities. It is crucial that the given applicant will understand the need to place their own independent stance on lessons, using unique strategies to engage students as much as possible.

Key aspects of this role include:

  • Delivering school curriculum to a high standard, being able to offer consistent support and guidance as and when required.
  • Implementing  innovative strategies in order to best increase performance within the classroom.
  • Understanding the intricacies within the learning process that children with SEN will often face.
  • Being aware of the complexities often faced by children in mainstream education whose primary language may not necessarily be English.
  • Ensuring that tasks within the classroom effectively cater for the needs of all students in the classroom.
  • Monitoring equipment used in lessons, and ensuring that any apparatus is calibrated and managed as according to protocol.
  • Pay - £28,000 and £43,685 annually, based on prior experience.

This position will run from September 2023 until the end of the academic year. There may be potential for this opportunity for this position to run for a further time than advertised.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
