Speech and Language Therapist (SALT) – Full-Time – Blackburn & Darwen
Location: Blackburn & Darwen
Contract: Full-Time
Start Date: ASAP / February 2026
Setting: School-based (Primary, Secondary, and SEN)
About the Role
We are seeking a committed and qualified Speech and Language Therapist to join our partner schools across Blackburn and Darwen. You will work directly inside classrooms and school environments, supporting pupils with a range of speech, language, and communication needs.
This is a full-time, school-facing role ideal for someone passionate about helping children access learning, build confidence, and develop essential communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver tailored 1:1 and small-group interventions
- Complete assessments and design therapy plans
- Support children with speech delays, language processing difficulties, social communication needs, and wider SLCN
- Work collaboratively with SENCOs, teachers, pastoral teams, and families
- Contribute to EHCPs and SEN reviews as needed
- Model communication strategies to staff to improve classroom practice
Requirements (Must-Have)
- Recognised Speech & Language Therapy qualification
- HCPC registration (or awaiting registration if newly qualified)
- Experience working with children or young people
- Willingness to work in a classroom/school environment every day
- Strong communication, organisation, and teamwork skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
