Job description

Job Opportunity: Specialist Speech and Language Therapist

We are looking for a dedicated Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join our team and provide vital support to students with physical disabilities, severe and profound multiple learning difficulties, and complex needs.

Role Overview:
As a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist, you will deliver tailored therapy to help students improve their communication skills. This will involve working directly with pupils through individual, group, or teacher-directed sessions. Your work will be key in helping students access and benefit fully from their educational programmes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver effective speech and language therapy sessions that meet the individual needs of students

  • Assess the communication abilities of both current students and new referrals to identify areas of need

  • Work closely with teachers and other professionals, providing training and advice to support therapy goals within the classroom and beyond

  • Develop clear, professional reports and records that track student progress and inform ongoing support plans

  • Collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure speech and language therapy is fully integrated into each student’s broader educational and developmental goals

About You:
You will have a strong background in working with children and young people who have complex needs, a passion for improving communication skills, and the ability to work flexibly with a variety of professionals, families, and carers.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
