A Primary School in Blackburn are looking for a Speech and Language Support Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with a child who is currently in the Year 5 class. Your roll would be to use your experience and knowledge on Speech and Language Support, to provide help for the child in the classroom during core subjects in the mornings and then in the afternoons to provide daily interventions which mirror his EHCP.

You are required to work alongside the Class Teacher to produce effective and efficient planning of the interventions to ensure the child is benefitting entirely for their specific needs. The position is on a temporary basis with the hope to become permanent by the end of the academic year.

The school is rated by Ofsted as 'Good' school and is said by the Head Teacher to 'Be filled with joy and laughter, by the children and staff'. The Head Teacher has said that the general behaviour of the pupils is 'good' however, she still requires the successful practitioner to implement good behaviour management strategies.

The salary is based on a 6.5 hour day position held Monday to Friday, and depending on experience, this could vary between £8.40-£10.50 per hour. Additional salary may increase depending on the interest of welfare.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
