Speech and Language graduate required for two form entry School in Hyde, Tameside

  • Recent SLCN graduate required
  • Previous experience working with children desirable
  • Competitive rates of pay dependant on experience

Teaching Personnel are recruiting on behalf of a client primary school that are looking for a graduate with experience working with pupils with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) to start for the new academic year to cover a year long maternity leave. The successful applicant will work with pupils specifically identified in every class on a 1:1 or small group basis. The identified pupils will have varying levels of ability when it comes to the speech and languages so the selected TA will take them for intervention sessions to help improve their communication skills. A candidate who has phonics experience would be beneficial as the majority of the support will take place in Early Years or Key Stage 1.

The ideal candidate will be expected to contribute to a positive learning environment for the pupils and will be expected to deliver pre-planned work to the children but have the ability to adapt the curriculum to make it accessible for the children being taught in line with their educational healthcare plans.

The school is two form entry and was most recently graded 'OUTSTANDING' by OFSTED. The schools SLT and teaching staff were praised for setting 'high expectations for all students' which 'encouraged a positive learning environment for both the staff and students'. The head teacher is looking for a dedicated SLCN graduate who will bring a positive attitude and new ideas to this lovely school.
