Specialist Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel are working with a partnership primary school are working with Teaching Personnel to recruit a Communication Specialist.

The school is based in the heart of Scarborough and will provide you with the opportunity to join a supportive and developing team.

As a Communication Specialist within this school, you will work with pupils who require additional assistance in understanding and communicating specific tasks throughout the day. This role can be varied and you will have the opportunity to work on a 1:1 or small group basis.

As a communication Specialist, you will work with pupils in an intervention capacity, working directly with them to develop their communication skills which will then allow them to effectively complete tasks and work throughout the week.

The school require someone who has experience of providing this support and often find that previous Nursery Nurses, or Specialist Teaching Assistants get on well in these roles.

There is also an opportunity to provide 1:1 BSL support for a pupil within the school. This would require supporting the child throughout the day, communicating with them the requirements of each class and tasks. You would also need to be available for school assemblies to communication any important information. There is an opportunity for this to be a longer term position.
