Specialist Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Specialist Teaching Assistant to join a dynamic and highly supportive education setting in Poole. This is a full-time position with an immediate start, working with children and young people aged 2 to 19 across both primary and secondary phases. Working hours are 8.30am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities

• Providing tailored support to pupils within the classroom

• Delivering targeted interventions to support learning and engagement

• Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour

• Working closely with teachers and support staff to meet individual needs

• Helping pupils develop confidence, independence and social skills

Experience Required

• A minimum of 6 months childcare experience, particularly supporting children or young people with additional needs

• A calm, patient and proactive approach

• Strong communication skills and a genuine commitment to inclusive education

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
