Specialist SEN Teacher – RCT (Rhondda Cynon Taf)
Confident, compassionate, and resilient teachers needed to support pupils with complex needs and challenging behaviour.
Are you a qualified teacher with experience (or a strong interest) in Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Do you have the skills and mindset to manage extremely challenging behaviour and support pupils with additional learning needs (ALN)?
Teaching Personnel is working with a range of specialist provisions, PRUs (Pupil Referral Units), and mainstream schools across RCT looking for skilled teachers to make a difference in high-need settings.
About the Role:
You will work with pupils who present with a range of complex needs, including:

SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health)
-
ASD
-
ADHD
-
Speech, language and communication difficulties
-
Behavioural challenges and trauma-related behaviours

What We Offer:

Start Date: Immediate and ongoing roles

Pay: From £166 per day (higher for experienced SEN specialists)

Work Type: Day-to-day, short-term, long-term and temp-to-perm opportunities

Location: Across RCT – from Treorchy to Pontypridd, Aberdare to Llantrisant

Supportive Consultant: Dedicated SEN specialist to guide your placements

Training Access: CPD in Team Teach, Safeguarding, Autism Awareness, ALN Framework
Requirements:
-
QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) – Primary or Secondary
-
Experience working in SEN settings or with pupils with high behavioural needs
-
Resilience, adaptability, and a proactive approach to managing classroom dynamics
-
A passion for inclusive education and a commitment to pupil wellbeing

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
