Specialist ASD teacher – Full time – Swansea
Teaching Personnel are looking for a Specialist Teacher to work with in a Specialist ASD Teaching facility for pupils with Autism and moderate to severe learning difficulties.
We are looking to appoint a qualified teacher who is innovative and passionate about ALN. Applicants should have relevant training and experience in teaching children with autism and other co-occurring additional learning needs and be part of this highly successful Specialist Teaching Facilities (STF).

The Successful Candidate:
- Provide and be responsible for the education and wellbeing of children in the Specialist Teaching Facility. (STF)
- Ensure that pupils in the STF receive a range of educational opportunities and acquire knowledge and skills across all Areas of Learning within the new curriculum including Numeracy, Literacy and DCF, focusing on the pupils’ individual needs.
- Planning and delivering suitable schemes of work that cater for the needs of individuals and ensure progression
- Deliver highly effective teaching, learning and assessment that enables all learners make better than expected progress against their outcomes.
- Support the inclusion of pupils appropriately in to mainstream education and their participation fully in the life of the school
- Ensure pupils developing personal and life skills that will support them through to adult life.
- Support and develop the communication and social skills through a therapeutically informed approach.
- Contribute to the aims, policies, and development of the school and to ensure that the specialist teaching facility is a functional and integral part of the school’s inclusive provision.
In addition, the desirable candidate will have the skills set to proactively liaise with students’ mainstream subject teachers, to create bespoke lessons and enable students with ALN to access the full curriculum.
The successful candidate will also undertake a pastoral role as a form tutor. There are also opportunities to get involved in the wider life of the school through trips and extracurricular activities and we will develop every staff member that joins our team, providing one-to-one support, coaching, and mentoring and access to extensive professional development.
What we need from you (we will help you through all the process below)
- To have an Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service
- Be registered as a Teacher with the EWC
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Complete our free Level 2 Safeguarding Course
- The Right to Work in the UK (Passport/Birth Certificate)
- A valid ‘Group 1’ Document- (Full/Provisional Driving Licence, Passport or Original Birth Certificate)
- A valid Overseas Clearance Check if you've been out of the UK for more than 6 months in the last 5 years

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
