Teaching Personnel are seeking a Teaching Assistant on a full time basis in September 2019
Our client school is based in Great Horton area of Bradford. The school is currently seeking 1:1 Support for September 2019 - supporting vulnerable pupils to engage with learning and improve their independence and self-management skills.
The school is situated in the heart of the city in close proximity to the M606; the school encompasses a community feel where all parents, pupils and staff collaborate to do outside of school activities and events. Activities include, picnics, football tournaments and visits to the seaside.
The school is a 3 form entry school with a friendly staffing team whose ultimate aim is to provide a rich and stimulating education for all pupils. The school also cater for pupils with Autism (ASC) Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH), Physical Disabilities (PD) and other complex needs. The school is registered to admit 600 pupils aged between 3- 11. Over 70% of pupils come from disadvantaged communities.
It will be your role to work with teachers and the SENCO to effectively deliver activities in a creative and engaging manner. You will work closely with pupils to identify and overcome barriers to learning, differentiating to meet specific needs. You will be working with vulnerable young people with complex needs who can often display verbal or physically challenging behaviours.
The successful applicant will:
- Support the school's vision, ethos and values that are embedded in the day-to-day and long-term running of the school
- Have the flexibility to work across any year group and with different pupils
- Be able to work successfully with pupils with challenging behaviour
- Have the ability to work constructively as part of a team
- Communicate effectively at all levels i.e. Staff, pupils, home and professionals
- Contribute to the development of young people and the community
- Uphold principles and values of honesty, respect, hospitality, compassion, self-discipline, and creativity
- Have a basic understanding of child development and learning
- Hold a general understanding of national/foundation stage curriculum and other basic learning programmes/strategies
You must be available on a full time basis in September 2019, and have a commitment to working with young people special educational needs.
