SEN Teacher – Darwen
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teacher to join a well-established mixed primary and secondary special educational needs school based in Darwen. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people, supporting students with a range of additional learning needs in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
Position: SEN Teacher
Location: Darwen
Contract: Temporary to Permanent
Start Date: ASAP or January start
About the Role:
You will plan, deliver, and assess tailored lessons that meet the individual needs and abilities of pupils with SEN, including autism, ADHD, communication difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health needs. Working closely with support staff and other professionals, you will create a positive, structured, and engaging learning environment that encourages progress and independence.
Key Responsibilities:

Deliver creative, differentiated lessons for pupils with a range of special educational needs

Support emotional and behavioural development through positive strategies

Collaborate with teaching assistants and therapists to meet EHCP targets

Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and achievements

Foster a safe, supportive, and engaging classroom atmosphere
Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or QTLS)
-
Experience teaching pupils with SEN (in primary, secondary, or specialist settings)

Strong behaviour management and communication skills
-
A nurturing, patient, and resilient approach to teaching

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
