Severe Learning Disability Support - Primary SEND

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting a Support Assistant to work with students in an SEND school for students with severe learning difficulties, the role will commence as soon as possible on a long term basis.

The role will involve working on a 1:1 basis with students with severe learning difficulties across Key Stages 1 and 2 who are in need of extra support within their lessons and occasionally at break and lunch times. You will be responsible for assisting with managing and tracking student's behaviour and personal development. The school delivers the national curriculum to students as well as a sensory curriculum for those with the most profound difficulties, there is a variety of SEND in the school including:

• Speech and language difficulties
• Downs Syndrome
• Autism

Ideally, the candidate will have experience working with severe learning difficulties. However, the client school welcomes candidates with backgrounds in education, youth/social work, care work and graduates; the most important quality is a passion for improving the lives of young people and a kind and nurturing personality. Teaching Personnel can offer teaching assistant's competitive pay rates of up to £65 per day, for the right candidate longer term rates can be negotiated on your behalf.
