Job description

Experienced SEND/SEMH Tutor Required – 1:1 Tuition Role from September

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and dedicated SEND/SEMH tutor to provide one-to-one tuition for pupils requiring specialist support, either in the home or within specialist provision settings. This role is vital in helping pupils overcome barriers to learning and re-engage with education. Pupils may have a range of complex needs including ADHD, autism spectrum conditions, PTSD, and behavioural challenges.

Candidate Profile – Essential Requirements:

  • A recognised teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent)

  • An Enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered on the Update Service – or willingness to obtain one

  • Substantial experience tutoring or teaching pupils with SEND and SEMH needs

  • Strong knowledge of the UK curriculum and ability to adapt learning to individual needs

  • Good understanding and implementation of positive behaviour strategies and trauma-informed approaches

  • Ability to build rapport and develop trusting relationships with pupils and families

  • Ability to travel independently between tuition venues – own car and full driving licence required

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
