SEND Teaching Assistant – Huddersfield
Location: Huddersfield
Pay: £90 – £105 per day
Contract: Full-Time | Long-Term | Temp-to-Perm
We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and supportive SEN school in Huddersfield (HD area).
This role involves working with students with a range of additional needs, including ASD, SEMH, MLD, and physical or sensory impairments, helping them to access education and reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide targeted support to pupils on a 1:1 or small-group basis.

Assist teachers in adapting learning materials and approaches to meet individual needs.

Support students with personal care, moving & handling, and communication strategies such as Makaton or PECS.

Encourage engagement, independence, and confidence within a safe and inclusive setting.

Collaborate with teaching staff, SENCOs, and external specialists.
Essential Requirements:

Experience working in an SEN, care, or school-based environment.

DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).

Knowledge of SEN strategies or training in Team Teach, Moving & Handling, or Makaton is beneficial.

Full-time availability and a caring, reliable attitude.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
