SEND Teacher – Alternative Provision (Permanent)
Location: Wirral
Salary: £30,000 – £40,000 per annum (dependent on experience and qualifications)
An alternative provision in the Wirral is seeking a dedicated and passionate SEND Teacher to join their team on a permanent basis. This specialist setting supports 8–10 students with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) who are unable to sustain a place in mainstream education for a variety of reasons.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in creating and delivering a tailored curriculum that engages, inspires, and supports pupils to achieve their full potential in a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons across English, Maths, and Science in line with individual learning needs.

Adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of students with a range of SEND, ensuring progress both academically and socially.

Foster a positive and supportive learning environment that promotes self-esteem and resilience.

Work collaboratively with support staff, parents, and external agencies to provide a holistic approach to each student’s development.

Monitor and record progress in line with EHCP targets.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
-
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS).

Minimum grade 4/C in GCSE (or equivalent) English, Maths, and Science.

Proven experience working with young people with special educational needs.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
-
Degree in a relevant teaching subject or equivalent for SEN.

SENCO Advanced Certificate.

Specialist Teaching Qualification.

Completion of the Patoss AAA course.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
