SEND Primary & Secondary Teachers
Job description
Primary & Secondary Teachers | SEND & SEMH Opportunities | East Sussex
Thinking about a change in teaching? Specialist education could offer a different direction for your experience.
I’m looking to connect with qualified primary and secondary teachers interested in SEND and SEMH work across East Sussex.
I work with settings around Hastings, Battle, Eastbourne, Hailsham, Seaford, Newhaven, Lewes and surrounding areas, supporting flexible teaching cover and longer-term assignments.
Who could this suit?
You might already teach within SEND and want a new environment. You could be working in mainstream education and considering how your skills would transfer, or returning to teaching after time away.
I’m happy to hear from ECTs and experienced teachers, although requirements vary and some vacancies need specific specialist experience.
You’ll generally need QTS or an appropriate equivalent.
What could teaching involve?
Depending on the setting, you could be:
-
Adapting lessons and resources to pupils’ needs
-
Teaching your specialism or a broader curriculum
-
Working closely with Teaching Assistants and other professionals
-
Supporting communication, confidence and engagement
-
Using assessment and observation to plan appropriate next steps
Academic progress remains important, alongside the wider skills that help pupils access education.
Finding your next setting
Before moving into recruitment, I worked within SEND education myself.
When we speak, I’ll want to understand your teaching background, preferred age groups and the support you’d value in a new school.
If you’re considering SEND for the first time, we can discuss the different settings and what their expectations could mean for you.
Pay & practical information
Qualified teaching roles are paid to scale where applicable, with access to CPD and professional development.
You’ll need an Enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered on the Update Service. If you don’t currently hold one, you’ll need to apply through us and join the Update Service. I’ll support you through the process, with the associated cost covered by the applicant.
We’ll also require your full employment and education history and references covering 24 months of employment in total where possible, prioritising recent and relevant employment.
Interested?
Apply and tell me about your teaching experience, availability and what you’d like from your next role.
Let’s explore which SEND and SEMH opportunities across East Sussex could suit you.
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQ’s on the Teaching Personnel website for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
