Teaching Personnel are seeking to recruit a SENCo for a Secondary school in Northamptonshire!


Job Title: SENCo
Salary: Leadership Scale L8–L12
Job Type: Full Time, Permanent
Start Date: September 2025


Job Overview

A dynamic and forward-thinking secondary academy is seeking a committed and experienced SENCo to lead and manage the provision for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate educator to shape and embed inclusive practice and ensure high-quality outcomes for all learners.


The Role

This senior leadership position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact across the whole school. The successful candidate will:

  • Develop a clear, ambitious vision for SEND and pastoral provision
  • Lead the creation and implementation of the SEND and Inclusion Development Plan, aligning it with the broader school improvement plan
  • Translate SEND policy into inclusive, day-to-day practices in line with the SEND Code of Practice
  • Represent the academy at internal and external SEND-related meetings and implement key developments in policy and practice
  • Line manage a team of support staff, providing direction, accountability, and CPD opportunities
  • Organise regular support staff meetings and oversee the communication and coordination of agendas and minutes

What We’re Looking For

We welcome applications from dedicated professionals with:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • A degree in a relevant subject area
  • NASENCO qualification or significant previous experience in a SENCo role
  • Additional training in safeguarding and inclusion
  • A strong track record of improving outcomes for pupils with SEND
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to engage staff, students, and families effectively

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
