Job description

Be the difference that changes a child’s future

Specialist SEN Tutors wanted – TP Tutors

For some students, school has never felt like a place where they belong. But with the right support, everything can change.

TP Tutors is looking for passionate, compassionate SEN tutors to work 1:1 with students outside of mainstream education. You’ll be supporting learners with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and other additional needs — students who need more than a lesson plan. They need someone who understands them, believes in them, and meets them where they are.

This is relationship-led tutoring that focuses on confidence, trust, and progress. Your sessions will help students re-engage with learning, develop independence, and rediscover what they’re capable of — often for the first time in a long while.

Every hour you give has a real, visible impact.

Why this role matters You’ll support students who are often overlooked and misunderstood. You’ll help rebuild self-belief and create moments of success that truly stick. You’ll see the difference you’re making, session by session.

What you’ll bring Experience supporting SEN students, including autism, ADHD, dyslexia, or related needs A calm, patient, and adaptable approach Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset Relevant qualifications (desirable, but not essential) DBS clearance, or willingness to obtain one

Why join TP Tutors Flexible hours and locations that fit around your life A supportive, experienced team who value what you do Access to training and ongoing professional development Work that feels purposeful, rewarding, and genuinely meaningful

If you’re committed to empowering SEN students and want to do work that truly matters, we’d love to hear from you.

Apply today and become the trusted support a student needs to thrive.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQ’s on the Teaching Personnel website for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We undertake safeguarding checks on all workers in accordance with DfE statutory guidance ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ this may also include an online search as part of our due diligence on shortlisted applicants.
We offer all our registered candidates FREE child protection and prevent duty training. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
